In the context of the accession to the European Union, Romania experiences an important period of assimilation and implementation of the acquis communautaire in all the fields of activity. Competition rules are no exception, undergoing, in the past 10 years, several modifications and adjustments in order to align to the European rules. Moreover, the Competition Council has made important steps in view of fitting its policy within the principles and practice of the European Commission.
