Gabriel Zbarcea is Managing Partner at Tuca Zbarcea & Asociatii.
In addition to his impressive legal background, he honed his many skills and talents in the public sector, as Adviser to the Prime-Minister and President of the Romanian Privatization Agency – the Authority for State Assets Recovery (AVAS) and President of the Privatization Commission for Banca Comerciala Romana (BCR).
His duties as President of AVAS involved the recovery of banking assets, the implementation of government strategy such as carrying through the privatization processes of all the companies in the AVAS portfolio in which the Romanian State has an interest and the management of the State's interests in such companies.
Gabriel Zbarcea's areas of expertise are in mergers, acquisitions and privatization, real estate, corporate and commercial law, energy and natural resources.
He has assisted Romanian and foreign companies in international joint ventures and corporate restructuring and acted as a co-ordinator in major industry mergers, acquisitions and privatization deals, as well as being involved in complex energy projects in the oil, gas and mining sectors.
He has published various articles on real estate, mergers and acquisitions, banking, oil and gas.
He is fluent in English.
