Overview
Elisa Cristea is a Senior Associate at Țuca Zbârcea & Asociații, specializing in energy and natural resources, as well as environmental law. Her practice covers a wide range of regulatory, transactional, and project development matters, with a particular focus on renewable energy, including solar, wind, biogas, and hydropower.
Elisa has advised leading domestic and international clients on high-value, technically complex transactions and energy development projects, covering the full lifecycle, from early-stage permitting and regulatory structuring to acquisition, construction, and operation. She has also extensive experience in environmental matters, including advising clients on environmental compliance during both the construction and operational phases. Notably, Elisa has been involved in disputes arising from third-party challenges to regulatory acts related to offshore gas projects, addressing complex legal issues concerning climate obligations, marine environmental protection, and interactions with protected natural areas within the exploration perimeter.
Elisa is also a PhD student in Environmental Law at the University of Bucharest, with a research focus on the intersection between renewable energy and environmental law. Elisa is also a Teaching Assistant at the Faculty of Law, Bucharest University of Economic Studies, where she teaches Public International Law, with a particular focus on legal regimes relevant to international energy and environmental matters.
