Tuca Zbarcea & Asociatii tops the league tables for „Emerging Market M&A Deal Activity”
Tuca Zbarcea & Asociatii is one of the most active transactional law firms in Romania and South-Eastern Europe (SEE), according to the number of M&A deals concluded in H1/2008.
As revealed by the ISI DealWatch „Emerging Market M&A Deal Activity” report, Tuca Zbarcea & Asociatii advised on M&A deals with an aggregate value of USD 861 million.
The league tables compiled by ISI DealWatch rank Tuca Zbarcea & Asociatii first in Romania and second in the SEE region by deal count.

As revealed by the ISI DealWatch „Emerging Market M&A Deal Activity” report, Tuca Zbarcea & Asociatii advised on M&A deals with an aggregate value of USD 861 million. The league tables compiled by ISI DealWatch rank Tuca Zbarcea & Asociatii first in Romania and second in the SEE region by deal count.
„Our law firm offers a whole range of legal services - all our practice groups have had a significant workload since the beginning of this year, spanning from litigation and arbitration, energy projects, capital market, competition, employment, infrastructure projects. The M&A transactions are, of course, an important part of our work and we do anticipate an upsurge in M&A activity in the following period”, stated Gabriel Zbarcea, Managing Partner with Tuca Zbarcea & Asociatii.
During the first half of 2008, the value of the M&A market in Romania more than tripled, reaching USD 7.42 billion, up from USD 2.33 billion in the corresponding period a year ago.
A total of 121 deals were signed, compared with 126 in H1/2007. The most active countries of origin were France (8 deals), Austria (7 deals), Cyprus (5 deals) and the United States of America (5 deals).
